Bolsover’s Anthony Parsons has announced the release of his first Christmas single titled ‘So Glad It’s Christmas Time’. The song tells the story of being a dad in the build up to Christmas and the excitement of his children as they go to bed on Christmas Eve.
Anthony has had a triumphant year after being named Best Solo Male at our own GITM Awards. His debut EP, ‘The End of The beginning’, was also named EP of The Year and his track, ‘Rise Above It All’, named Single of The Year.
However, he now has his eye on the charts and is hoping his large Facebook following will give him the best gift he could possibly ask for: a place in this year’s Christmas charts. Anthony told us: “I know it’s a big ask but it would be fantastic if I could make it into the charts with this song. I’ve worked incredibly hard over the past few years and I’m always trying to grow and improve in every area. I think it’s every musicians dream to have a song in the charts and that has to be my next goal now. I’m really hoping I can achieve that with this song.”
Anthony is aiming to grab a place in the UK top 40 chart, however how realistic is his dream? On average, a song needs to sell between 7,000 and 8,000 copies to make it into the top 40. With Anthony’s 10,500 Facebook followers he does have a realistic chance of hitting the charts.
Anthony added: “I’ve had some amazing support this year and I’m really hoping that I can end 2021 on a high.” The question is, just how high can he go? Let’s all get behind Anthony and get this fantastic Christmas song into the charts.
‘So Glad It’s Christmas Time’ is available to pre-order here now and will be officially released on 17th December on all digital music platforms and will cost just 99p.
